My Yoga Journey

I was introduced to yoga at a very young age. My first teacher, Emilee Garfield, offered yoga at my elementary school as an after-school program. I loved it - I was naturally flexible so the movements came with ease. By the time I was in third grade, I was carried away with other priorities, and my yoga practice took a break. In 2015, I was re-introduced to Emilee. I took a few yoga and pilates classes with her before heading off to college.

Summer of 2016, I started going to Evolution Yoga SB. Here I was introduced to heated yoga classes and was instantly hooked. My teacher at the time, Linda Baffa had a way of gracefully moving bodies through challenging postures. I took multiple classes a week in this style all summer long alongside my best friend. This is when I began to notice how transformative the yoga asana practice can be. The following summer, I returned to this weekly practice.

In 2019, I discovered RA Yoga. I was fresh out of college, a little out of shape since my college workouts had stopped, and knew I needed to move my body again. I began taking weekly classes from MJ Travers, and when the pandemic hit, I followed MJ to the beach for her sunset yoga classes.

After the doors at RA Yoga re-opened, I dedicated a year to practicing yoga before diving into my yoga training. I got my 200hr yoga certification through RA Yoga in March 2022 and began my 300hr schooling in April.

I taught my first class in March 2022, leading free classes at the beach. From August - September of 2022, I taught weekly classes at RA Yoga Costa Mesa and in December, I began teaching at Club Studio in Irvine. The yoga teaching certifications I currently hold are in Vinyasa, Hot 26, Yin, Yogalates & Strength/Sculpt.
